Skid Pan
As an aside from the speed events there are also technical competitions. Here 50 or so competitors spend the day breaking traction and going sideways.
Eastern Creek - Round 3
The best, and fastest track on the calender is EC. Some Subarus were getting to 230kmh on the straight with turn one speeds in excess of 180kmh if on the right tyres. Here is some video of Andy chasing a golf and me chasing a new radiator hose.... then putting in a single lap. The edit went astray the later and less coherent I got so its a bit all over the place.
Oran Park South - Round 2
Round two was a return to Oran Park but on the shorter South Circuit. Stig once again took the win with Andy getting second and Troy once again winning STI. This is the first edit attempt we undertook with limit footage and slightly less of a clue. After a labourious introduction it leads into a single lap incar with Andy following Stig.
Oran Park GP - Round 1
The format of the competition is simply the fastest lap each competitor achieves in the day determines their position in their class for the competition. Each driver has several runs of four laps on track with several other cars as all compete against the clock. In WRX Street tyre class a 1.24.82 gave Stig the win by just half a second from Jeff Halliday with Andy a little over a second further back in third in his first ever event. In the upper spec STI class Troy Everson took the win with a 1.23.02.

WRX Club Championship - Intro
The NSW Impreza WRX Club Supersprint Championship 2006 is an amateur club series run over eight rounds on four racetracks. It is for owners of various models of Subaru turbo and features drivers ranging from enthusiastic novice to gracefully aging enthusiast. As well as compete, two drivers also videoed bits and learned the basics of editing. We are using this combination of blog and video upload site, YouTube, to present our perspective on the season for a) something to rationalise the purchase of a large flat panel monitor b) a way to entertain and amuse family and friends and c) so we can easily relive all to rare motorsport experiences in the gap between events.
Here is our intro to the season:
